From May 2023, Dr. Zsolt Barna will be the Chairman and CEO of MBH Bank Plc., the result of the triple merger, and of several Group subsidiaries, in particular Fundamenta-Lakáskassza Zrt., MBH Befektetési Bank Zrt., MBH Befektetési Alapkezelő Zrt. and Solus Capital Zrt. Chairman of the Boards of Directors of MBUS Capital, MBUS Capital and Solus Capital.
As of 1 January 2022, as Chairman and CEO of Magyar Bankholding Zrt., he managed the merger of Budapest Bank, MKB Bank (Chairman and CEO) and Takarékbank.
Prior to that, from 2010 to July 2020, he held a number of senior positions at OTP Group, notably as Deputy CEO from September 2018 to July 2020. In relation to foreign subsidiary banks, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of CKB Bank in Montenegro, he led the bank's reorganisation, was a member of the Supervisory Board of the Croatian subsidiary bank and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SKB Bank in Slovenia.
He graduated in law from the University of Pécs in 1997 and in 2004 he obtained a degree in European law. He started his career at the State Supervisory Authority for Financial Organisations (PSZÁF), where he was Head of Department and then Executive Director of the Supervisory Directorate from 2004. Between 2006 and 2010, he was a member of the Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR) and the Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS). Between 2008 and 2009, he was one of the key leaders in crisis management in the banking sector.
