Who should I turn to if I have other questions about banks?

  • For complaints and other transaction issues:The Hungarian Banking Association is not authorized to evaluate or declare a resolution on complaints or problematic affairs. Banks’ customers should turn to their own banks or to the Financial Consumer Protection Center.
  • To obtain general information about banks:The Hungarian Banking Association is not authorized to collect statistical data or to create such a database and therefore cannot provide this information. To obtain general information about banks, please consult Magyar Nemzeti Bank’s (the central bank of Hungary) statistics database.
  •  If you have an idea or suggestion about sponsors you wish to share with financial institutions:The Hungarian Banking Association does not have an independent sponsorship framework and does not carry out any direct or intermediary activity in this field. It therefore cannot accept any support or sponsorship requests, nor can it forward them to its member banks. Consequently the Association cannot undertake to publicize or advertise any event. We kindly thank you for your understanding.
  •  If you have an ethical banking/financial issue or concern:The Ethics Committee of the Hungarian Banking Association primarily deals with cases where a measure taken by a bank may adversely impact the interest of another member bank. The Ethics Committee can only evaluate customer complaints in unique cases that are included in its Rules of Procedure.
  • If you would like to inquire about a specific bank product, service or condition:The Hungarian Banking Association does not have a comprehensive database on bank products and conditions. We therefore kindly ask that you inquire about these at the customer service department of the bank providing the product or service.
  • If you would like to know more about a law or legislation concerning banks and credit institutions:The Hungarian Banking Association only applies these laws. If you wish to get acquainted with laws and legislation concerning banks and credit institutions, please consult the relevant Ministry’s official website or its official publications.
